Some sounds have a magnetic quality. The beat of a drum, the swoosh of the ocean and the ping of a perfect golf shot. They have the ability to make time stand still, causing all other things to fall away.
Laced with cerulean waters, Mauritius is a place to hum to the sound of your own tune, whether you seek an exotic getaway, family indulgence or championship golf. Here, lush, volcanic landscapes cascade into sea vistas and amongst them lie some of the Indian Ocean’s most compelling golf experiences, anchored by the Beachcomber Resorts. Guests have privileged access, complimentary transfers and preferential green fees to two exceptional courses: Paradis Golf Club and Mont Choisy Le Golf.
For those who prefer other activities, land and non-motorised water sports as well as all kids clubs are complimentary at all Beachcomber Resorts.
The Southern Jewel: Paradis Golf Club
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Le Morne Brabant, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Paradis Golf Club is visually arresting. The 18-hole par-72 championship course unfolds along the bay of the south-west peninsula of Mauritius, with palm-lined fairways that are liberally defended by bunkers. The immaculate greens and gentle sea breeze mean that the strategy will shift from hole to hole. After a refreshing stop at the halfway house by the 10th, be prepared for water to pose its most serious threat on the back 9.

Right: The 18-hole course is wedged directly between the towering, iconic Le Morne Bravant mountain and the brilliant turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The final nine holes stretch right along the coastline, offering spectacular ocean views and challenging, windy play.
Facilities extend way beyond the course, including a golf academy with video technology to progress your game. The course is flanked by two standout resorts, Paradis Beachcomber and Dinarobin Beachcomber – each with its own version of island hospitality.
Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa: Golf on Your Doorstep
Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is ideal for those who want to combine serious golf with adventure. Positioned on the Paradis Golf course, the proximity means guests are never far from villa, fairway or shoreline and players can stumble to early tee times, just steps away from their suite.
Thatched roofs shade spacious rooms and beachfront suites ensure uninterrupted views, while eight restaurants between the Paradis and neighbouring Dinarobin resorts, cater to a variety of palates.

Spread over 400 acres, Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort Spa’s rooms and villas feature natural materials such as wood and thatch that blend into the green, palm-lined landscape, creating a peaceful, “barefoot luxury” experience.
For those not golfing but fond of sport, there is a myriad of activities available, from kitesurfing to paddleboarding and waterski. Children have access to a fully experiential kids club and families can make use of the tennis and padel courts or biking excursions when adventure calls.
Golf may be at the heart of the Paradis, but the offerings go far beyond the fairways.
Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa: A Quiet Retreat
Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa next door is more tranquil in tone and the characteristically deep verandas give each suite the feeling of a private seaside home. Framed by lush gardens highlighted by bougainvillaea and shaded by the dramatic slopes of Le Morne, the resort feels like a secluded sanctuary. The exclusive adults only ZEN suites are ideal for couples or travellers seeking privacy.

Left: The spa offers Ayurvedic and energy-replenishing practices, including meditation, yoga, and even aerial yoga.
Right: Beachfront Junior Suites offer unobstructed views of the sparkling lagoon and direct, few-steps access to the sand from a private terrace.
The spa is a true haven of holistic wellbeing. Treatment rooms encompass open air pavilions, where the distant hushing of the ocean acts as a white noise as you are pampered. A path of Japanese stone leads guests across a pool to a section devoted to water-based treatments and balneotherapy.
The Northern Perspective: Mont Choisy Le Golf
In contrast to the pelagic drama of the Paradis Golf, Mont Choisy Le Golf has its own, unplaceable accent. A par 72 championship course over 6200m long, it is the creation of the renowned South African golf architect Peter Matkovich. Originally a sugar plantation, the course offers a parkland-style challenge. Some fairways are bordered by tufts of grassy dunes next to large bunkers, offering links-inspired elements; others have lakes or endemic volcanic rock peppered throughout.

Designed by Peter Matkovich, the course at Mont Choisy Le Golf is renowned for its use of natural black volcanic rock outcrops, which are often used as hazards, contrasted with lush green fairways and sandy waste areas.
Although Mont Choisy is only mildly undulating with sparse palms dividing fairways, the challenge comes more from obtuse bunkers, water hazards and wind exposure. One of the standout holes, the par-3 15th, is played over a wetland area from tee to green. Mont Choisy is a short shuttle from both Trou aux Biches Beachcomber and Canonnier Beachcomber.
Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa: Barefoot Luxury for Families *
Beachcomber Trou aux Biches – meaning deer’s pool – refers to its coral reef lagoon, ideal for many water-based activities. The hotel is just five minutes from Mont Choisy Le Golf, making it an excellent base that combines course access with a resort that excels in family hospitality.
The PADI-certified dive centre includes night diving and deep-sea fishing. Days can be as active or as relaxed as desired: snorkelling in the lagoon, indulging in spa treatments or simply enjoying the two kilometres of iridescent beach.

Right: The dramatic infinity-edge design of the main pool offering panoramic views of the turquoise lagoon and spectacular sunsets.
The property has six in-house restaurants, each proposing a different culinary journey from Asia to Europe, including Il Corallo for Italian, Blue Ginger serving Asian fusion and Mahiya, which cooks up an Indian storm.
Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa: History and Character
Perched on an historic peninsula on the other side of the bay from Trou aux Biches Beachcomber, the Canonnier Beachcomber is a resort set within the remnants of a colonial fortress. Here ancient cannons and stone walls are a feature within its tropical gardens. Even the ancient lighthouse has been cleverly integrated as the venue for the teens club. Similar to Trou aux Biches, families are very well looked after, with an emphasis on activities and shared experiences.

Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is most special for its historical and natural setting. The resort features a unique spa located in the branches of a bicentenary banyan tree. Its distinctive charm includes a 19th-century lighthouse and cannon remains in its tropical gardens.
The spa, set within the branches of a bicentenary banyan tree, is an unforgettable setting for relaxation, with a focus on holistic treatments and bespoke five and 10-day programmes.
Three restaurants include Navigator, serving Mauritian cuisine and offering stunning views of the northern islands; Le Frangipanier for themed buffets; and La Serenata for Italian cuisine.
