Driving Sustainable Change

The Hope Classic Rally Returns

The Hope Classic Rally is making its much-anticipated return on Saturday 11 September and is inviting all classic car owners and enthusiasts to celebrate their love of classic vehicles while raising funds for international development organisation WeSeeHope and their work with vulnerable children and communities across Southern and Eastern Africa.

After a one-year absence due to Covid-19, the 2021 Hope Classic Rally aims to assemble over 60 iconic cars such as the Porsche Speedster, Ferrari 250 SWB, Lamborghini Miura, McLaren GT and many more for a convoy across the picturesque Surrey Hills.

Our Editor Julia Pasarón had the pleasure to take part in the Hope Classic Rally in 2018 driving a beautiful Austin Healey named Donald.

This year, for the first time ever, the Hope Classic Rally is holding a Magnificent Seven online auction, inviting car enthusiasts to bid to drive legendary models such as the Jaguar XK120 Roadster, Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7RS and Aston Martin DB5 Convertible. The modern supercar, McLaren GT will also join the line up having been generously loaned by McLaren Automotive in support of the event. The auction is now live and bidding ends at midnight on Friday 3rd September.

Winners of the auction will get to drive their car of choice at the Hope Classic Rally and join in with the day’s entertainment.

This year’s prestigious rally departs from The Oatlands Hotel in Weybridge and ends at the stunning Wiston Park in the South Downs. The rally will be followed by a quintessential garden party in Wiston Park’s idyllic grounds, where guests can enjoy refreshments, live entertainment, wine tasting and the chance to find out more about renowned classic car models from guest speakers.

Now in its sixth year, the Hope Classic Rally has attracted classic car owners from across the country as well as leaders in the motorsports sector and a host of celebrity guests and supporters, including Jenson Button, Jodie Kidd, Lewis Moody, Nicki Shields, David Croft, Dario Franchitti and Hope Classic Rally Ambassadors Ant Anstead and Simon Thomas.

To date, the Hope Classic Rally has raised more than £1.3m for WeSeeHope and its work to create sustainable change through community-led education, child rights and economic empowerment programmes in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
