Buddha-Bar Montenegro

The heart of the Adriatic heats up

Founded by French-Romanian restaurateur Raymond Vișan and DJ and interior designer Claude Challe, the Buddha-Bar first open in Paris in 1996 and quickly became one of the hottest places to see and be seen in the French capital. The success was such that soon there were Budha Bars sprouting up all over the world, from Marrakesh to Manila, Mykonos and even Saint Petersburg.

It wasn’t much of a surprise then when the global franchise arrived in Montenegro. With cities and towns as old as those in classic Greek tragedies, waters as crystal clear as in the Caribbean and snow-capped mountains, Montenegro has become “the” must-go destination in the Mediterranean for well-heeled and “in the know” vacationers – to the point that it is now starting to compete with the Riviera.

Within a three-hour flight from most European capitals, Porto Montenegro is easily accessible via three international airports and one helipad. The luxury destination hosts the world’s first platinum-rated superyacht marina and includes a full-service 460-berth marina, the five-star Regent Hotel, an award-winning yacht club, an international boarding school and an industry-leading rental service.

The Bay of Kotor, resembling a fjord, is dotted with coastal churches and fortified towns.

Sailing and yachting are not the only attractions in Porto Montenegro. You can shop until you drop at its Fashion Gallery, which houses high-end designer brands such as Balenciaga, Jimmy Choo, Zanotti, Dolce & Gabbana, Kenzo, Tom Ford, and Fendi, to name but a few. Sibarites can enjoy exquisite food at restaurants such as Galion, Murano and the Dukley Seafront, all of which are contributing to making Montenegro one of the hottest destinations on the Southern Coast of Europe.

The recently opened Budha-Bar Beach brings its famously hedonistic spirit to the azure waters of the Unesco-protected Bay of Kotor. Their unique lifestyle and dining concept has been integrated within the marina’s yacht club, making it ideal for a rendezvous with friends for a bit of creative Asian-fusion cuisine or to just have a drink enjoying the laid-back vibes the brands is globally famous for. As the sun goes down, feel the tempo rise, as international DJs turn Buddha Bar Beach into a nightclub at heart of the Adriatic.

Buddha-Bar Beach is open during the day as chill-out spot, transforming into a nightclub in the evening.

The restaurant offers an eclectic menu, with signature dishes that marry the finest local ingredients with Asian spice. Taste the bounty of the bay, with fresh seafood and regional produce fused with exotic oriental flavours from distant lands and expand your culinary horizons, with international guest chefs serving up surprise and delight throughout the year.

The combination of music, fabulous food, a breath-taking 64-metre infinite pool and panoramic views over the Bay of Kotor, have made Budha-Bar Beach the star of Porto Montenegro since it opened its door in May. Visitors and residents can enjoy a long weekend of events at Buddha-Bar Beach every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer season, plus the bar makes the perfect rest and recuperation spot during the day, or a celebration spot during the evening.
