Outdoor pursuits in the heart of the Tyrol

Although most people associated Kitzbühel with skiing, this beautiful medieval town in the Tyrol is as exciting in summer as it is in winter. Amidst its stunning alpine backdrop, Kitzbühel bustles with all kinds of outdoor activities, that allow visitors to feeling invigorated by sport amidst the natural beauty of the area. Here we bring you the exciting sporting events taking place in Kitzbühel this season.

There are few things that I find more exciting than a classic car rally, and the one in Kitzbühel, running across the spectacular mountain landscapes surrounding it, is difficult to beat. Maybe that’s why every year, it attracts petrol heads from all over the world, eager to conquer the 600 km of challenging roads and be the first ones to cross the finishing line.

Lovers of classic cars will think Christmas has come early at the Kitzbüheler Alpenrallye.

As only vehicles dating back to before 1975 can take part, this is a great opportunity to admire cars from both the pre and post-war periods, including rare models from marques as prestigious…

Scottish hospitality at its best

Nestled deep within the picturesque heart of rural Perthshire near the town of Crieff, and just an hour’s drive from Edinburgh, stands the newly opened Aberturret Estate House. Blessed with a secluded location on the Glenturret estate, it was once the Dower House of Clan Murray, one of the great families in Scottish history, who […]

Luxury, conservation and sustainability in paradise

Amilla Maldives is a luxury resort developed on a natural island, nestled within the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives. On arrival, I was welcomed by General Manager, Narelle McDougal, for whom conservation, sustainability and accessibility are top priorities. “I’ve been in hospitality all my professional life and it always annoyed me […]

Ananda Resort

If you feel permanently exhausted, you’re not alone. An estimated 45 per cent of us suffer from a chronic lack of sleep and know all too well how profoundly it affects our well-being. I haven’t slept well since before the anxiety-inducing disruption of the pandemic, and even though life is back to normal, my circadian […]

The Other House South Kensington gets personal

Mash-ups of the seemingly incongruent have occasionally resulted in miraculous, delightful and otherwise unanticipated combinations. Country-rock music, salted caramels, the iPod-plus-the-mobile-phone: they combine the best of the two and eliminate the rest. Imagine, then, what accommodation away from home would be if you dream of the convenience and facilities of hotels, the regularity and security […]

Reach the peak of perfection in Kitzbühel

Austrian skiing legend Hans Gmoser got it right when he famously declared that “a person should have wings to carry them where their dreams go, but sometimes a pair of skis makes a good substitute”.  Dreams can come true in magical Kitzbühel where the skiing is not just extraordinary but iconic. An Alpine experience like […]

This idyllic destination is a perfect combination of natural beauty, modern amenities, and impeccable […]

The heart of the Portuguese Riviera

Historically a fishing village, Cascais became the epitome of chic when the Portuguese royal family started to holiday here at the end of the 19th century. Other European royals, such as Britain’s own King Edward VIII, favoured it too. Where the royals go, the upper classes follow, and soon the stretch of coastline west of […]

The beautiful Austrian city of Innsbruck ticks all the boxes as the ultimate destination winter wonderland. With its picturesque streets set against the stunning backdrop of the snow-covered Tyrolean mountains, this welcoming city comes alive as the winter nights draw in. As well as a popular skiing destination, its glorious Christmas markets offer more than […]

The October half-term is a great excuse to chase the last of the sunshine before its time to put up your Christmas decorations, or simply factor in some fun family time. Whether you’re looking to thrill toddlers or teenagers, there are many options from sun-kissed Halloween-themed hangouts, to sports camps led by professionals, or even […]

British actress and comedian Nina Wadia goes Sea-toxing at Lošinj Hotels & Villas, Croatia

Having never heard of a “Sea-tox”, I was intrigued. Will I be de-toxifying in the sea itself? Is the Spa made entirely out of seawater? Are the therapists animated Disney sea creatures and if so, will I finally turn into Ariel (my childhood dream…)? These were my first thoughts on arriving at the Hotel Bellevue, […]

A luxury destination for gourmand spirits

On the northeast of Mallorca, away from the noisy capital and the crowded beaches of the south and west of the island, we find the Grand Hotel Cap Vermell. Perched on the side of a mountain overlooking the Valley of Canyamel, Cap Vermell is a resort like no other in the Balearic Islands, a gastronomic […]
