Just half a year after NOMOS Glashütte unveiled the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer at Watches & Wonders, three new limited editions – the new Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Night Navigation series – conjure up the romance of nocturnal air travel with elegant aplomb.
How exactly? Well firstly, there’s the 24-hour world-time cities ring. Frequent fliers will want to make it a pre-take-off ritual to prod – seatbelt fastened, phone switched off – the pusher at 2 o’clock, and the local hour hand sweep round so it indicates the time in whatever city has been set to hover at 12:00 on the watch’s inner bezel. A sub dial at 3 o’clock depicts the time at home on a two-tone 24-hour scale, while another at 6 o’clock shows subsidiary seconds.

The three Nomos Glashütte’s Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Night Navigation have high-contrast, black galvanized dials and Super-LumiNova hands and hour markers. Each of the models (Trace, Grid, and Vector) uses distinct, luminous colour (here featured, Trace).
But it’s not just the functionality that makes this an itinerant’s dream timepiece. The galvanized black dials – finished with a sun-ray brush and protected by blue anti-reflective sapphire crystals – are furnished with brightly coloured dial furniture that calls to mind three different air-travel scenarios: turquoise, echoing the glass facades of skyscrapers, in the case of the ‘Trace’ edition; amber, like criss-crossing streets beheld from 30,000 feet at night, in the case of the tellingly named ‘Grid’ model; and black, olive and ecru in the case of the ‘Vector’ model – the last a nod to cockpit instruments. Super-LumiNova turbo-charges legibility in all three pieces.

The new Nomos Glashütte’s Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Night Navigation features a black galvanized dial with sunburst finish and a blue anti-reflective sapphire crystal. It is housed in a slim 40mm stainless steel case.
All have 40mm-wide, 9.9mm-thick stainless-steel cases, are water resistant to 100 meters and offer a couple of extra neat features in the form of screw-down crowns which emit a red warning ring if not closed properly and integrated three-link bracelets with quick-change spring bars for versatility. Turn the watch around and via a sapphire case back, you’ll see not only the German manufacture’s signature finishing but also a globe, making up part of the partially skeletonised rotor: a symbol of the pieces’ dedication to the itinerant lifestyle.

With its highly versatile design, the new Nomos Glashütte’s Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Night Navigation functions both as a sport watch and an elegant dress watch. Its ability to “do anything, go anywhere” makes it a compelling “one-fits-all” fashion accessory.
The three models are priced at £3,940, limited to just 175 units and come with screw-down crowns guaranteeing100m of water resistance. They’re powered by the DUW 3202 movement (offering a 42-hour power reserve) and all offer the option of a black textile strap or a matching three-link stainless steel bracelet. Both options contrast elegantly with the case – but the latter is more aesthetically versatile and looks just as “in situ” peeping out from beneath tailoring as it does denim, cotton or knitwear.
Which is a genuine consideration: because this is an addition to the travel watch canon aimed at globetrotters with sartorial smarts.
