Renowned Champagne house Louis Roederer releases its 2022 vintage “Hommage à Camille” wines: Camille Charmont 2022 (red) and Camille Volibarts 2022 (white).
The woman behind the brand, Camille Olry-Roederer, was nothing short of extraordinary. She took the helm of Champagne Louis Roederer on the sudden death of her second husband in 1932. Her energy, ingenuity and strength of character influenced the growth of the marque for over forty years until her death in Biarritz in 1975. Inspired by Camille’s ingenuity, her great-grandson Frédéric Rouzaud – President of the Maison since 2006 – created a collection of single-vineyard still wines to honour this supremely elegant lady who loved to surprise her guests by serving still wine from Roederer’s finest vineyards.
Camille became an international socialite and thanks to her wits and efforts, Cristal became the bubbly of choice for the rich.
Camille Charmont 2022 Red & Camille Volibarts 2022 White are the fourth declared vintages from Roederer – one of just 24 Champagne “Grandes Marques” – and each expresses the bold and free-spirited approach to artisanal winemaking which has been a hallmark of the house since the very beginning.
These fine and distinctive wines are produced in limited quantities from organically grown vineyard plots reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainable viticulture. In their style and rarity they make an eloquent comment on the woman whose name they bear and whose soirées in Reims and around the world were the stuff of legend.

Camille Charmont 2022 comes from a 0.43-hectare plot in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. This Pinot Noir exudes chalky freshness and tactile elegance. Its velvety, saline structure captures all the energy of the Charmont lieu-dit.
Camille Volibarts 2022 originates in a 0.55-hectare plot of old Chardonnay vines in Mesnil-sur-Oger. This new Camille Volibarts reveals notes of yellow fruit and a broad yet delicate texture, set off by a dazzling minerality.
This vintage is proof positive of Louis Roederer’s commitment to continue building on the heritage of the brand, whicle constantly innovating and exploring new avenues.
