A bold interpretation of the everyday sports watch
The new Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono brings freshness and innovation to the classis sports watch by Hamilton, drawing from the company’s military and aviation heritage, which dates back to the 1st World War, when the Hamilton Watch Company started supplying pocket watches for the military.
First introduced in the mid-2000s, the Jazzmaster was an immediate success, proving very popular with hardcore fans of the brand and attracting many new customers that appreciated its contemporary look and versatility. The Jazzmaster offered – and still does – both automatic and quartz movements, catering to different preferences.
At 42mm, the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono is a watch with definite presence. As any watch aficionado will testify, case sizes above 40mm require careful handling in order to look elegant on the wrist but, with its sporty appeal, the effortlessly stylish design can be worn with everything from a suit to sneakers, although arguably, the best pairing would be with a glamorous partner and a performance car.
The anthracite dial, black PVD stainless steel case and black tachymeter bezel, together with the perforated black leather strap accentuate the sporty character of the watch. The exhibition caseback allows the wearer to observe the Hamilton H-31 calibre.
For the technically minded, the watches’ indices are enhanced with X1 grade Super-LumiNova and the current time is displayed on the outer ring of the dial.
Three subdials, in black, silver and steel blue, track hours, minutes and running seconds. The tachymeter bezel works in harmony with the chronograph hand to calculate average speeds. Beneath the chronograph dials there is an exposed date wheel giving a pleasing symmetry to the face, which boasts a sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating.
A 60-hour power reserve and water resistance to 100 metres complete the capabilities of the functional Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono.
