Anybody that is a fan of MotoGP will be more than familiar with the Swiss watch brand Tissot, which has been a partner of the sport since 2001.
Over these 25 years, Tissot has created a series of watches that celebrate the excitement of racing and the qualities it requires: precision, passion, power; all of which are shared by Tissot. To honour the 75th anniversary of MotoGP, the Swiss watchmaker has released seven watches, all of them infused with technical design features inspired by the adrenaline-infused world of motorbike racing, adorned in a distinct palette of blue and red.
The two limited editions of the Tissot T-Race MotoGP Chronograph.
Two are limited edition iterations of the T-Race MotoGP Chronograph honouring this milestone anniversary for MotoGP. Both present colours and features that are a clear wink to the world of motorbikes. If you have a close look at the bezel, you’ll see the resemblance to brake discs, while the pushes are inspired by a bike’s handlebar, and the patterning on the lugs shaped as the cooling fins of a bike. The overall finish smells of racetrack, adrenaline and speed.
My favourite is the automatic Valjoux model (limited to 2,024 pieces) featureing a black PVD bezel, blue tachymeter and dial in the same colour with a transparent effect, which reveals some of the intricate mechanisms. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, adding to the clarity and readability of the watch, along with the anti-reflective coating on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Through the caseback, one can see the movement, an automatic chronograph Valjoux A05 Nivachrom.

The Valjoux is packaged in a box shaped as a mini helmet, which is sure to bring out a big smile from MotoGP enthusiasts.
