The new Richard Mille RM032 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Ultimate Edition is the final statement on the technical performance watch for conquering the ocean’s depths. It contains all the Richard Mille signature style cues and robustness in construction. This model will be on the wrist of Richard Mille’s partner and world record-holding free diver, Arnaud Jerald.
The first dive watch by Richard Mille was launched in 2009. At the time, the RM 025 Tourbillon Chronograph meant a dramatic design shift for the luxury watch brand, which was – until then – recognised for its take on the tonneau case aesthetics. Since then, the audacious Swiss watchmaker has continue to develop dive watches, and everything learnt so far, has been poured into the RM032 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Ultimate Edition.
Free diving champion Arnaud Jerald is testing out the new RM032 dive watch.
The RM032 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Ultimate Edition has lost none of the typical design elements from the brand. The ergonomic curvature at the back of the case ensures that the watch rests comfortably on the wrist, and as other watches in the range, it is fashioned from a mixture of high-tech lightweight and robust materials such as grade 5 titanium with Carbon TPT® inserts. The bezel is crafted from microblasted DLC titanium, with the half bezels made of Carbon TPT®, secured with eight-point-star-shaped screws. Water resistant to 300 metres.

The watch displays hours, minutes, seconds, 12-hour totaliser and flyback chronograph functions, combined with an annual calendar with an oversized date at 12 o’clock and a month indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock. To ensure that the chronograph pushers do not comprise the water tightness of the case, Richard Mille developed and patented a locking crown that immobilises the watch functions. The crown and pushers of the RM032 can be locked by simply rotating its ring (green index if unlocked, red index when locked).

The calibre RMAC2 has a PVD-treated grade 5 titanium baseplate and bridges with a free-sprung balance. The energy imparted by the typical variable geometry rotor is stored in two barrels, providing a 50-hour power reserve. The digits for the date indicator are composed of two DLC titanium discs, with the numbers cut out in silhouette like inverse stencils, combining great visual clarity with style. A running indicator at 3 o’clock makes it possible to check the correct functioning of the and features a Super-LumiNova® disc, rotating at 2rpm, positioned beneath black segments outlined on the dial, ensuring easy readability, day or night.
Available as a limited edition of 80 pieces, it is the final interpretation of the RM032 exemplifying both aesthetic appeal and craftsmanship. CHF210,000 excluding taxes. GBP: POA. Find out more about the new Richard Mille RM032 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Ultimate Edition, HERE.
