Daniel Roth Tourbillon Rose Gold

The next chapter of the revival

After the success of the Daniel Roth Tourbillon Souscription earlier this year, La Fabrique du Temps presented at Geneva Watch Days 2024 a new interpretation, the Daniel Roth Tourbillon Rose Gold.

Made under the expert direction of Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini – long-time friends of Daniel Roth and founders of La Fabrique du Temp – and Matthieu Hegi – Artistic Director at Daniel Roth – the new watch presents an opportunity to acquire for those who missed the Souscription edition of just 20 pieces.

With very similar aesthetics to its yellow gold counterpart and the same DR001 proprietary movement to fit the proprietary double ellipse case, this version of the Daniel Roth Tourbillon comes in 5N rose gold rather than 4N, a decision made so the new in-line guilloche on the dial would contrast better with the silver elements, as well as with all the markings, which come in glossy black lacquer, along with the hands in black-coated stainless steel.

The vertical guilloche in the Daniel Roth Tourbillon Rose Gold is almost identical to that on the Daniel Roth watches from the late 1980s.

As in the version presented at the beginning of this year, the retro-barrel gives 80 hours power reserve. The tourbillon beats at a frequency of 3Hz instead of the original 2.5Hz (from Daniel Roth’s original 1988 model), and its accuracy is better. The slimness of the DR001 calibre, over the original, allowed a reworking of the proportions to make it more balanced. The lugs have also been modified, so they are curved to match the rounded lines of the case and to help the watch sit more comfortably on the wrist.

“We understand Daniel’s preference for elegance and subtlety, so we designed the DR001 to showcase discreet but perfect finissage…”

 – M. Navas & E. Barbasini

It is worth mentioning the stunning finishing on the DR001 movement, with chamfered edges and highly polished bridges. There is a particularly satisfying “click” that one hears when winding it.

Each of the Daniel Roth Tourbillon Rose Gold will be individually numbered from “21”, as the first Souscription pieces were “01” to “20”. Although the watch is not a limited edition, the natural production constraints of such an artisanal piece mean that no more than 50 will be produced per year. Find out more HERE.
