Vertex M36 Armistice Day Limited Edition

A horological homage to Remembrance Day

Following the success of the M36, launched earlier this year to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, Vertex has launched the M36 Armistice Day Limited Edition. Only nine of these watches are available, made in bronze with a burgundy dial, and all proceeds are going to the Royal British Legion.

One of the “Dirty Dozen”, Vertex has been associated with the British military since 1915, when founder Claude Lyons received his first army commission. Since its revival in 2015 by Lyons’ great-grandson, Don Cochrane, the brand has kept honouring this heritage, issuing watches inspired by Vertex’s illustrious past. The M36 series is no different. Originally created to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day on 6th June 2024, the watches echo the resilience and precision that were critical on that historic day, which changed the destiny of the world. Vertex supplied 1776 watches for the D-Day landings.

Cochrane himself came up with the idea to produce these commemorative watches. He comments, “It seems only fitting to ensure that we remember all those who served, especially those who sacrificed. The Armistice Day Bronze 36 felt like a natural progression from the M36, with the Burgundy dial reflecting the poppies that have come to personify the 11th day of the 11th month of the year.”

Vertex M36 Armistice Day with numerals and indexes in X1 Super-LumiNova

The Vertex M36 Armistice Day has a solid bronze alloy case with a burgundy dial, with numerals and indexes treated with X1 Super-LumiNova to optimise visibility even in the most challenging conditions.

Housed on a classic 36mm case, the M36 is a great fit for all wrist sizes and looks very stylish. The Armistice Day limited edition comes in a solid bronze alloy case. Watch enthusiasts will appreciate other special characteristics of the M36, which include scratch-resistance anti-reflective top sapphire crystal – box-shaped for added retro feel – and moulded X1 Super-LumiNova numerals, which, together with the printed indexes and rhodium hands also treated with Super-LumiNova, ensure maximum visibility in any conditions. The screw-in crown and lugs make the M36 more solid and better protected.

The beating heart of the M36 series – including that of the Armistice Day Limited Edition – is the Sellita calibre SW261 movement, which is powered by the movement of your wrist. Each timepiece comes in a custom military-grade tactical case featuring a unique Velcro patch. The M36 comes with several bespoke accessories to change the look of the watch, including an expanding metal bracelet, a leather over-and-under strap, and a cotton over-and-under strap.

The new colours added to the Vertex M36 collection: are military black and emerald green.

If by the time you try to secure your Vertex M36 Armistice Day Limited Edition is too late, you can opt for an M36 in one of the two new colours added to the collection: emerald green (50 pieces) and military black (100 pieces) both with a solid alloy bronze case.

RRP: £2,350. Find out more about the Vertex M36 and the Vertex Armistic Day Limited Edition, HERE, or visit Vertex watches in their London boutique: 15 Shepherd Market, London W1J 7PH.
