Vibrant, impactful and always fun, pop colours brighten up any look and are a great way to show your personality. Somehow, they have always found their way into fashion and this season, the trend has extended to our wrists. Following the most popular hues this summer, we bring seven striking sports watches, unapologetically bold.
Show off your bright and cheerful personality with the new 38mm Rado True Square Skeleton in yellow, mechanical proof of the creativity of this Swiss brand, with more than a hundred years of history.

Orange, the colour of youth and enthusiasm, is represented here by the Tissot Seastar Wilson Automatic. Earlier this year, Tissot extended its commitment to the WNBA by naming Sabrina Ionescu International Brand Ambassador. To mark the event, two new variations of the 40mm Seastar were launched, in orange and in white, automatic and quartz.

Probably the boldest of all pop colours, red is associated with passion, danger and courage. All characteristics are encapsulated in the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph. Its vivid sunray brushed dial with contrasting black sub-dials and red rubber strap bring a new dimension to its classic sports chronograph configuration.
Luminous applied hands and hour markers add legibility. The sturdy 43mm brushed-steel case make it suitable for almost all activities and environments, boasting 200 metres water resistance.
Pink has been declared the colour of the millennials, the brightest, the better. This summer we go for the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba in pink, inspired by surfboards. This watch is a total looker, sure to make a splash not only among the waves but equally at the beach club or Miami’s Lincoln Road.
The Khaki Navy Scuba features an aluminium unidirectional bezel, simple and easy to read dial with Super-LumiNova on hour markers and hands, and date between four and five o’clock; and the Hamilton H-10 automatic movement, which comes with a Nivachron balance spring, which has special anti-magnetic properties. The rubber strap is ultra-comfortable and guarantees longevity given that is designed to withstand seawater.
For the cool side of the pop colour range, we are moving onto haute horlogerie. Starting with the Hublot Big Bang Integrated Blue Indigo Ceramic, a watch that dazzles with the simplicity of its aesthetic and its toughness.
The dial features large hour markers and hands, for extra legibility, all housed into a high-tech ceramic bezel and case, which make the watch practically indestructible and resistant to all kinds of aggressions. The large central hour, minute and second hands are complemented by a date window at 6 o’clock. The movement, the self-winding calibre HUB1710 is highly precise, reliable and provides 50-hour power reserve.
Green made a splash in the early 2010s in fashion and in the last few years, we can’t have enough of it in the watch world. Maybe it is because green is actually the most relaxing colour to the human eye. This Omega Speedmaster Moonshine in gold with alligator strap and bit of bling would look perfect on any wrist jumping off a boat at the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro or sailing in the emeral waters of Northern Brittany.
The 38mm Moonshine gold case (an 18k alloy paler than yellow gold and more resistant to fading), with a bezel set with 52 diamonds plus an extra one in the crown. The green PVD features three oval subdials and a date window at 6 o’clock in a similar shape. The hour and minute hands come in 18k Moonshine™ Gold filled with a variation of Super-LumiNova that emits a green glow. The caseback is stamped with a Seahorse medallion.
Last, white. Although technically not a colour, it is always present in fashion, and it can be blindingly bright. It doesn’t get more pop than that. My choice this summer is the HYT Conical Tourbillon Panda.
Limited to eight pieces, this striking piece features three spherical white agate stones on the dial, which rotate at different speeds around the tourbillon. Each of them is complemented by a finely finished counterweight in white. The 48mm titanium case is coated in white ceramic and topped by a dome-shaped anti-reflective crystal. The white rubber strap provides the watch with a very contemporary and individual look.
