At an exclusive event last week at their revamped boutique in Mayfair, the new SV Lansdowne Edition car was revealed. The latest SUV from the SV Bespoke division of the British manufacturer is proof positive that true luxury is in high demand these days.
Perhaps we should rather speak about the redefinition of luxury, which is what the team at Range Rover Special Vehicles Operations have been doing since the division was established in 2014 to serve the bespoke needs of their most special customers. This is all about the client expressing their personality through their car, making it unique an utterly individual.
The newly refurbished Stratstone Land Rover Mayfair boutique sets a new benchmark for luxury service.
Paddy McGillycuddy, JLR UK Sales Director, said: “The profound desirability of our products has never been so apparent. All 16 of the exquisite Range Rover SV Lansdowne Editions have been sold ahead of reveal […]. We are also developing locations, services and events that provide unique and exclusive touchpoints for our clients. Our new Mayfair boutique provides concierge levels of personal service in a modern, luxury environment.”
The distinctive design of the Range Rover SV Lansdowne is completed with exclusive SV accents and bagdes.
The 16 vehicles – with a tag price of £250,000 – will be delivered this summer. Seeing the car before my eyes makes me want to cry, that’s how insanely jealous I am of those lucky people. Subtle elegance defines the look of the car. As a wink to Mayfair, the exterior of the Lansdowne features a colourway inspired by the neighbourhood’s iconic architecture. The curated specification boasts an exclusive Lansdowne Grey Gloss exterior, accented with unique design details. The roof and mirrors are Corris Grey gloss, while the 23” Black Satin forged wheels feature inserts of the same paint but in satin finish, with the Land Rover oval in black. Other unique details include a black chrome metal script badging handcrafted by Fattorini (oldest family-owned jeweller in Britain) on the front and rear of the vehicle, SV Bespoke-branded puddle lamps and SV Anthracite and Graphite Atlas accents.
The tailgate suite in the Range Rover SV Lansdowne comes with leather cushions and champagne-flute holders. Pony Club, bring it on.
As an SUV, the Lansdowne is as ready to take you to the opera as it is to tow your children’s ponies on the weekend (just keep their boots in the trailer please!) If we are speaking about practicalities, the tailgate suite comes with leather cushions and champagne-flute holders, which are a brilliant idea, since the car comes equipped with a mini fridge, where to keep a couple of champagne mini- bottles… a detail of the outmost importance if you ask me. Which brings me to tell you more about the vast lavish interior, which could have been designed by Valentino, that is how chic it looks. SV Bespoke Rosewood & Ebony semi-aniline leather upholstery (that is leather that has been dyed with soluble dyes but has a top coat to protect from wear and tear) with diagonal stitch embroidery, ebony mohair carpet mats with leather binding, satin-black ceramic controls… basically when you sit in it and close the door, you feel as if you were in your own couture bubble, down to the illuminated treadplates with “SV Bespoke – Lansdowne Edition 1 of 16” script.
The interior of the Lansdowne boasts bespoke upholstery with diagonal stitching on the seats, dash and doors along with satin black ceramic controls.
But not everything is about the looks. The Lansdowne promises to be a truly exciting drive with its Land Rover P530 V8 engine, direct injection 4.4-litre bi-turbo, which gives an output of 523bhp and a top speed 155mph. Or you can choose to simply be driven, in which case, sit back, kick off your shoes and crack open the champagne, darling.
