Given TAG Heuer’s ongoing relationship with Porsche, Richard Mille’s with McLaren and Girard Perregaux’ with Aston Martin – to cite just three examples – the market, when it comes to horological-automotive collaborations, really ought to be overcrowded. And yet, the 20-year partnership between Frederique Constant (a Geneva-based brand which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2023) and Healey, a go-to marque beloved by gentleman drivers since 1952, suggests there’s still room aplenty: as long as the innovation factor is turned up to 11.
The latest two additions to the 2025 Classics Vintage Rally Healey collection are a 36mm date watch and a 42mm chronograph whose elegant dials offer a nod to the metallic blue associated with the Austin-Healey 3000 MKII BM7 back in the early Sixties. The former has a date window at six o’clock, with the retro Healy logo placed elegantly above it, plus silver and white hour markers and a dash of flamboyance in the form of a red seconds hand. Its caseback is solid, and engraved with a silhouette outline of the vehicle it celebrates, whilst the beating heart is an FC-397 movement with a 38-hour power reserve.

The latter – afforded extra sporty brio by its chronograph subdials (seconds and minute counters) in a darker blue – is more of a statement piece, although it does share many aesthetic codes with it sibling, such as its red accents. It offers 62 hours of power and is water resistant to 50 metres. Both pieces have a navy-blue calfskin strap with contrast stitching and are limited to 1,888 pieces.

Founded in 1988, Frederique Constant’s raison d’être is to offer stylish affordable luxury watches which help democratise haute horology. With these two worthy additions to their canon – priced at £1,295 and £2,995 respectively – they’ve taken that aim to stratospheric new levels.
