Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon

A quiet pursuit of perfection

The Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon represents an exquisite evolution within the brand’s Classic collection, its horizon-blue dial marking its transition from a limited Série Atelier into Laurent Ferrier’s permanent line. Unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2025, this model is a seamless fusion of elegance, craftsmanship, and refined utility.

At 40 mm in stainless steel with an 11.94 mm profile and a sapphire sandwich case, the watch looks graceful, and at the same time, exudes comfort. Its pebble-shaped case harks back to 19th-century pocket watch silhouettes, offering a harmonious blend of classical and modern sensibilities.

The dial’s translucent blue lacquer atop a silver-galvanized base reveals a cool, celestial light that shift hues under different lighting; vertical brushing across the centre complemented by a circular minute track adds dimensionality without clutter. White-gold Assegai hands, drop-shaped indices, a snailed sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and a subtle crosshair accentuate both form and function.

The Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon is powered by the in-house LF270.01 micro-rotor movement. This calibre offers a robust 72-hour power reserve, 30m water resistance and integrates a date function – making it wrist-ready for daily wear.

The Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon uses a 18k gold off-centre micro-rotor, integrated into the mainplate. This allows the movement to remain ultra-thin (just 4.35 mm) while still being automatic.

A standout feature is its 950 platinum micro-rotor, engraved with bird-feather motifs that echo the movement’s beak-shaped bridge. The rotor is sandwiched between the main plate and rotor bridge, which has a positive effect on both stability and energy efficiency. Inside, standard Swiss lever escapement and a unidirectional ball-bearing mechanism ensure resilience against daily knocks – this durability is a direct nod to Ferrier’s Sport Auto lineage.

Those familiar with Laurent Ferrier will not be surprised at the attention to detail in this watch. The LF270.01 movement undergoes over 139 manual finishing operations, encompassing Côtes de Genève, anglage, perlage, satin-brushing, and mirror polishing. The bridges are rhodium-plated, and the beautifully engraved rotor adds a visual flourish visible through the sapphire caseback.

Overall, this is a versatile and elegant piece that will look as good in the boardroom as it would in the country club. CHF 45,000 (approx. £40,950).
