When Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Rendez-Vous in 2012, it made a point that should not have needed making: a watch designed specifically for women could be both beautiful and mechanically serious. It also gave the Maison a round-cased, high-complication counterpart to its iconic rectangular Reverso. The first model used the in-house automatic Calibre 967A, while Night & Day was the collection’s earliest complication. Since then, Rendez-Vous has expanded through moon phases, celestial displays, perpetual calendars and the wonderfully unexpected shooting-star mechanism, without losing its floral numerals, guilloché textures and jewellery character.
Limited to just 10 pieces, the Rendez-Vous Jewellery Night & Day comes in a 34mm platinum case. Its transparent sapphire dial is hand-painted in lacquer with an Asian paradise flycatcher among Korean dogwood blossom, while a second painted disc carries the sun and moon through one rotation every 24 hours. Surrounding the dial, 48 baguette-cut diamonds, with further brilliant-cut stones on the case, lugs and crown. The automatic calibre 733 gives it a 70-hour power reserve.
The Rendez-Vous Hour-Minute is the highly functional option. At 29mm and only 7.47mm thick, it reduces the design to hours, minutes, floral numerals, sunray guilloché and 12 diamond hour markers. The steel version, with blue hands and a snow-white dial, gains a supple lozenge-link bracelet introduced to the collection in 2025. The pink-gold model is paired with taupe alligator leather. Both have an engraved sun on the closed caseback ad a private decorative detail.
The quartz Calibre 657 may surprise anyone who remembers the collection’s mechanical founding statement. But there is logic to it. Fourteen years on, Rendez-Vous has nothing left to prove and can now cover the full range of the feminine watch wardrobe with confidence: from a discreet quartz Hour-Minute in steel for every day to a high-jewellery Métiers d’Art Night & Day for far more conspicuous occasions.
