Cut Out at 45 Park Lane

Fish & Chips the Mayfair Way

The great British chippy is a symbol of British food, al fresco dining and the best of summer. No seaside holiday is complete without a fish supper. Now, 45 Park Lane has reimagined the classic takeaway as a rather more exquisite dining experience. Guests can eat at Cut Out, the hotel’s seasonal terrace pop-up, or wander across the road to Hyde Park with a specially designed takeaway.

Part of Cut at 45 Park Lane, Wolfgang Puck’s only London restaurant, Cut Out is led by culinary director Elliott Grover. It brings a line-up of coastal ingredients to Curzon Street, applying Cut’s technique and quality to familiar favourites.

At the centre of the menu is fried haddock served with mushy peas, homemade tartar and curry sauces, and triple-cooked chips prepared in beef dripping. The crunch of the batter is the holy grail of any good fish supper, while dipping one of those chips into the curry sauce takes you straight back to the seaside. The fish finger sandwich, a childhood favourite and pub-menu stalwart, has also been reborn as something worth ordering in its own right.

Those feeling more adventurous can try Scottish langoustines with wild garlic mayonnaise or tempura-fried monkfish with chilli pepper, pickles and wasabi mayonnaise. Even the humble battered sausage appears in a new guise: chicken sausage in batter with curry sauce. A halloumi burger with sweet chilli jam and rocket provides a meat-free alternative.

As one might expect from Cut and Dorchester Collection, each familiar comfort food has been turned into a playful culinary experience. For diners less tempted by the fried dishes, lighter choices include seared Orkney scallops in the half shell with garlic and chilli butter, Achill Rock oysters with honey-truffle ponzu and Wolfgang Puck’s signature crab and lobster roll.

Dessert continues the high-low theme. Strawberry and champagne ice lollies are divine, while Eton mess with British strawberries and Jersey cream, or a vanilla ice cream cookie sandwich, will certainly hit the spot.

To drink, the Our Way Martini combines Belvedere 10 vodka with Cocchi Extra Dry Vermouth and is served extra cold. There is also a well-chosen selection of beer, wine and champagne. Altogether, it is a celebration of summer ingredients and the enduring appeal of British comfort food.

Cut Out is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner until 6 September 2026. More information and bookings, HERE.
